Bold, Peppery Greens Ready in Weeks — Certified Organic

If you want a salad green that actually has something to say, arugula is it. That distinctive peppery, slightly nutty bite — the one that transforms a simple salad into something memorable, elevates a pizza, and makes a bruschetta sing — is what makes arugula a staple in kitchens from Rome to Brooklyn. Botanical Interests Arugula Rocket Organic seeds let you grow this beloved green at home, fresh and fast, certified organic and non-GMO.

Arugula (Eruca vesicaria subsp. sativa), also known as Rocket, is one of the fastest and easiest salad greens you can grow — ready to harvest in as little as 40 days from sowing. Its deeply lobed, tender leaves deliver bold flavor that intensifies as the plant matures, giving you a range of heat from mild baby leaves to assertively peppery full-grown greens.

Why You'll Love It

  • Bold, peppery flavor — distinctive nutty-peppery taste that elevates salads, pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, and more
  • Incredibly fast-growing — baby leaves ready in as little as 21 days; full harvest in 40 days
  • USDA Certified Organic — grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
  • Non-GMO & open-pollinated — save seeds year after year
  • Cool-season crop — thrives in spring and fall; ideal for extending your growing season
  • Cut-and-come-again — harvest outer leaves regularly and the plant keeps producing for weeks

Growing Tips

Direct sow outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or in late summer for a fall harvest. Arugula prefers cool temperatures — it bolts and turns bitter quickly in summer heat. Sow shallowly (¼ inch deep) in rows or broadcast in beds, and thin to 4–6 inches apart. Water consistently to keep soil evenly moist. Harvest outer leaves when they reach 3–4 inches for mild baby arugula, or allow to grow larger for a more intense peppery flavor. Succession sow every 2–3 weeks for a continuous harvest. Once plants bolt, the white flowers are edible and add a mild peppery note to salads.
