Description

A Living Gallery of Heirloom Sunflowers — Certified Organic

Sunflowers are the embodiment of summer joy — tall, bold, and radiantly cheerful. But the 'Heirloom Beauties' blend takes sunflowers far beyond the classic yellow. This curated organic mix brings together some of the most beautiful heirloom varieties in a stunning range of colors: deep burgundy, rich mahogany, warm bronze, golden yellow, and creamy white — each one a living work of art. Botanical Interests brings you this extraordinary collection as a USDA Certified Organic blend, grown the way nature intended.

These are the sunflowers that stop you mid-step — the ones that make extraordinary cut flower arrangements, fill the garden with late-summer drama, and draw gasps at farmers markets and flower stands. Tall, branching plants produce multiple blooms per stem, giving you a generous, long-lasting harvest of flowers all season long.

Why You'll Love It

  • Stunning heirloom color range — deep burgundy, mahogany, bronze, gold, and cream; far beyond the standard yellow sunflower
  • Exceptional cut flower — long stems, branching habit, and multiple blooms per plant make it a florist-quality cut flower
  • USDA Certified Organic — grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
  • Non-GMO & open-pollinated — save seeds from your favorite colors year after year
  • Pollen-bearing varieties — supports bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects throughout the season
  • Bird-friendly seed heads — leave dried heads standing for goldfinches and other seed-eating birds in fall

Growing Tips

Direct sow outdoors after the last frost in a full-sun location with well-drained soil. Sow seeds 1 inch deep and thin to 12–18 inches apart — sunflowers dislike transplanting. Water deeply but infrequently once established; they are drought-tolerant once roots are set. Pinch the growing tip when plants reach 12 inches tall to encourage branching and more blooms. Harvest cut flowers when the outer petals have just begun to open for the longest vase life. For seed saving, allow a few heads to fully dry on the plant before collecting.
