Growing Tips
Direct sow outdoors after the last frost in a full-sun location with well-drained soil. Sow seeds 1 inch deep and thin to 24 inches apart — 'Mammoth' needs space to reach its full size. Water deeply and consistently, especially during stem elongation. Stake plants in exposed or windy locations to prevent toppling. For edible seeds, allow the flower head to fully mature and dry on the plant until the back turns yellow-brown, then cut and hang upside down in a dry location to finish curing.
