Description
Big, Bold Dill — Maximum Foliage for the Serious Herb Grower
When you want dill that really delivers — lush, abundant foliage with an intense, classic dill flavor — 'Tetra' is the variety to reach for. Larger and more vigorous than standard dill, Botanical Interests Dill Tetra produces thick, bushy plants loaded with fragrant fronds that are perfect for fresh cooking, drying, and everything in between.
'Tetra' is a tetraploid variety, meaning it has extra sets of chromosomes that result in noticeably larger, more robust plants with slower bolting — giving you a longer harvest window of fresh leaves before the plant goes to seed.
Why You'll Love It
- Extra-large & vigorous — tetraploid genetics mean bigger plants and more harvestable foliage per plant
- Slower to bolt — enjoy a longer window of fresh leaf harvest compared to standard dill varieties
- Intense dill flavor — rich, aromatic fronds ideal for fresh use in salads, dips, sauces, and fish dishes
- Great for drying — high foliage yield makes it excellent for preserving
- Non-GMO & open-pollinated — save seeds year after year
Growing Tips
Direct sow outdoors after the last frost in a full-sun location — dill dislikes transplanting. Sow seeds shallowly and thin plants to 12–18 inches apart to give 'Tetra' room to reach its full size. Water consistently and avoid planting near fennel, which can cross-pollinate. For a continuous supply of fresh leaves, succession sow every 2–3 weeks through the season.
Packaged by Botanical Interests — a trusted name in heirloom and open-pollinated seeds since 1995.
