Sweet, Nutty Roots That Get Better After the First Frost
Discover the rich, earthy sweetness of homegrown parsnips with Botanical Interests Parsnip All American — a reliable, high-yielding heirloom variety that produces smooth, creamy-white roots with exceptional flavor. Left in the ground through a light frost, the starches convert to sugars for an even sweeter, nuttier taste that store-bought parsnips simply can’t match.

Growing Guide
Sow seeds directly outdoors in early spring as soon as soil is workable, ½ inch deep in deep, loose, well-drained soil free of rocks and clods that can cause forking. Thin seedlings to 3–4 inches apart. Parsnips are slow to germinate (14–28 days) — keep soil consistently moist until sprouts appear. Roots are ready to harvest in 100–120 days. For best flavor, wait to harvest until after the first hard frost of fall, or mulch heavily and harvest through winter.
