Grow Your Own Natural Sweetener — Certified Organic

Imagine snipping a leaf from your garden, popping it in your mouth, and tasting pure, clean sweetness — up to 300 times sweeter than sugar, with zero calories. That's stevia, and 'Candy' is one of the sweetest, most flavorful selections available. Whether you're reducing sugar, managing blood glucose, or simply curious about growing your own natural sweetener, Botanical Interests Stevia 'Candy' Organic seeds bring this remarkable herb to your garden in a USDA Certified Organic form.

Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) is a tender perennial herb native to Paraguay, grown for its intensely sweet leaves that contain steviol glycosides — the natural compounds responsible for its extraordinary sweetness. Fresh leaves can be used directly in teas and beverages, dried and crumbled as a sweetener, or processed into a liquid extract for baking and cooking. 'Candy' is selected for superior sweetness and minimal bitterness compared to standard stevia varieties.

Why You'll Love It

  • Extraordinarily sweet — leaves are up to 300x sweeter than sugar with zero calories; a little goes a very long way
  • 'Candy' selection — bred for superior sweetness and reduced bitterness compared to standard stevia varieties
  • USDA Certified Organic — grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
  • Non-GMO & open-pollinated — save seeds year after year
  • Versatile in the kitchen — use fresh leaves in teas, dry and crumble as a sweetener, or make a liquid extract for baking
  • Compact & container-friendly — tidy, bushy plants grow 18–24 inches tall; ideal for herb gardens, raised beds, and pots

Growing Tips

Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost under bright light — stevia seeds require light to germinate, so press them onto the surface of moist seed-starting mix without covering. Maintain warm soil temperatures (70–75°F) for best germination. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed into a full-sun location with well-drained soil. Stevia is a tender perennial — it will not survive frost but can be overwintered indoors as a houseplant in cold climates. Harvest leaves throughout the growing season by snipping stems; flavor is most intense just before flowering. Dry leaves in a single layer and store in an airtight container for year-round use.
